At Tikatika Academy, our educational programmes are designed to develop every learner into a confident, curious, and compassionate individual. We follow Zambia’s recently approved curriculum reforms — including the 2023 Zambia Education Curriculum Framework — which emphasise competence-based learning, 21st-century skills, digital literacy and inclusive practices.
Our aim is to:
Foster critical thinking, creativity and collaboration
Ensure strong foundations in literacy and numeracy
Integrate digital tools and global awareness
Develop character, values and community-orientation
We offer three key programme levels designed according to the 2023 Zambian Education Curriculum Framework, which emphasizes competence-based learning, inclusivity, and child-centred progression.
Early Learning Centre (Ages 3 – 5) — Focused on foundational language, early numeracy, play-based exploration, and socio-emotional development in line with the Early Childhood Education (ECE) curriculum.
Lower Primary (Grades 1 – 3 / Typical Ages 5 – 9) — Guided by the new Lower Primary syllabi (2023), learners build strong literacy, numeracy, science, and social skills through interactive and practical approaches.
Upper Primary (Grades 4 – 6 / Typical Ages 9 – 12) — Learners advance into deeper conceptual understanding across core subjects, integrating ICT, creative arts, and civic education to prepare them for Grade 7 and beyond.
At Tikatika Academy, ages are treated as child-specific to accommodate individual readiness and development while remaining within national guidelines.
Our curriculum fully aligns with Zambia’s structural reform of 3 years Early Childhood Education and 6 years Primary Education, ensuring smooth continuity through each developmental stage.
Specialist classes in ICT, Creative Arts, Sports and Languages.
Project-based learning and cross-curricular themes (science, environment, citizenship).
